Modular MSc Renewable Energy Systems Technology (REST)

Distance-learning MSc modules are available as part of CREST's postgraduate study programme. Upon successful completion, these modules are worth 15 credits each towards the Loughborough University Masters (180 credits) in Renewable Energy Systems Technology. Optional leave awards of PG Dip (120 credits) or PG Cert (60 credits) are also available.

All REST MSc modules are available for Distance Learning. During the programme students will study 8 of these.

In 2012/13 we are planning to change the options from 2 out of 3 15 credit modules to 3 out of 4 10 credit modules which will include: Wind Power 2, Advanded Photovoltaics, Advanced Solar Thermal and Renewable Energy Storage. Hower, this is subject to university approval.

For the MSc award you must also complete the 60 credit Project Module ELP645.

Foundation modules

Non-credit foundation modules covering electrical engineering, biomass, kinetics/mechanics and engineering mathematics provide a sound basis for further post graduate level study. These are available free of charge to all students enrolled on CREST's post graduate programme and should be studied prior to starting the REST MSc modules.
